The system

Solace Town is a slice and life, adventure RPG inspired from from PMD, Pkmn Conquest, Fear and Hunger, & Stardew valley. Similar to these titles, Solace Town aspires to be a group with a collection of tasks that anyone is free to do in their free time.Whether you prefer dungeon crawling, bartering, art grinding, or simply wanting to roleplay, Solace Town is the home for you. There are some special systems that you may encounter within the group that are listed below:
.................................................................
Karma Stats
Karma stats are also known as invisible stats as they are character points that are usually hidden from the players. Each character in Solace Town has different karma stats that may affect the way they treat someone.
Karma Stats are what is written below:
- Favor
- Reputation
Favor
Favors are how much a certain character trusts you which usually applies to the NPCs of Solace Town. The more a resident favors you, the more open they become to you and willing to join you or entertain your presence.
Effects:
NPCs can be recruited in a team in high favor. However, some residents who are already in teams will not join you. Instead, they may offer a temporary assistance.
- NPCs may randomly send letters to players through the Post Office. Frequency and contents may change depending on favor and relationship with the character. These can also include items in it at times!
- Facility NPCs: Higher favor -> Better odds at bartering.
.................................................................
Reputation
Reputation is how a large number of people see you. One may choose to remain kind and always be kind while another may choose to pursue chaos and notoriety. This can be determined by actions taken within the town like stealing, fighting, helping, and taking requests. This scale isn't permanent, however, as one can change at any given time.
Lawful <---- Neutral ----> ChaoticEffects:
- RP based interactions. During a plot mission, one's reputation may change the dialogue or mechanics needed.
- All NPCs (Residents or not) have a favor bar. However, some NPCs stop gaining favor after a certain threshold unless they have a reputation that they favor.
- Yes, notorious NPCs may be even recruited in the future

These events are usually triggered by plot developments or by causality. Usually when a story event finishes, a mysterious mechanic or area becomes unlocked.
Town Events
Town events are celebratory events within the town that usually is joined with festivities and celebration. These includes seasonal festivals and parties within the guild, the town, or discovered towns.
Residents Events
Residents Events are events that developed from either collective high favor with a resident or fateful encounters purchased within the EV shop. These tackles closely to the lore of the player and the resident involve that further develops the world around Solace Town.

Combat System

Mystery Dungeons
Commonly abbreviated to dungeons, are areas in the Pokémon world where rescues, jobs and other explorations take place. Dungeons are labyrinth-like structures with 3 to 99 floors that can be traversed to complete missions and are home to many hostile Pokémon. They change layout every time they are entered, making it impossible to predict how to get through beforehand.
Dungeons may also have a set type of weather effects that remain for a whole floor unless a weather changing move is performed.Note: These mechanics are used within player-ran campaigns. Super Mystery Dungeons (mod-ran dungeons) may have different twists that are not commonly available to the normal mystery dungeons. The information provided in this page talks only about the stats. To understand how mystery dungeons work inside the group, please refer to the guidebook below.

.................................................................Stats and Mechanics
System mixes stats and coin flips for the dungeons with stats that stems from PMD, Pkmn Conquest, & Fear and Hunger. Stats and attributes are listed below.
When creating a character, a player has 5 additional attributes to add. Please note that power and speed maxes at 5 points while health and belly maxes at 10 points.
.................................................................
Health (Starting Health: 3)
> Health determines how much health a pokemon has before fainting.
Health, also known as HP determines the healthiness of a pokemon that is going inside of the dungeons. When Health drops to 0, it is not an instant game over. When a Pokemon loses all of its HP, it will start struggling.
A struggling Pokemon does not automatically faint. It simply becomes unable to fight back. When a Pokemon is struggling, it will drain its remaining belly stat and hits the enemy with a power of 1 until it drains all Belly completely. The remaining belly a pokemon has determines how many turns it has until it faints if not healed within the BATTLE PHASE.
Power (Starting Power: 1)
> Power determines how hard a pokemon move hits.
Power, also known as PP, determines two things in Solace Town- a.) The power output of their given heal/attack and b.) The amount of refresh a pokemon has for their moves. When the players choose moves within the group, the moderators will give their moves outputs and usage (amount of times they can use a move before they are unable to use them.)All pokemon are able to use the “Regular Attack”, a typeless attack that hits half (rounded up) as your Power stat. When a move runs out of PP, a player can use a point of POWER to use another desperate move. This will allow the player to use another move but at the cost of losing a power. When POWER is already 1, this desperate move cannot be established. This will remain this way until the end of the BATTLE PHASE.Speed (Starting Speed: 1)
> Speed determines how many times a pokemon can reroll a coin to hit.
Speed, also known as SPD, determines the accuracy of a Pokemon in Solace Town. When fighting, a pokemon may use a MOVE which causes the pokemon to try to roll an accuracy check with a coin flip. When a player rolls for a move and fails, they are allowed to expend a SPD point to reroll the same move again until they run out of SPD or they connect. This can also be used to reroll coin flips during Super Mystery Dungeons explorations as well. This stat goes back to normal after a turn is done.Belly (Starting Belly: 3)
> Belly determines how much a pokemon can scavenge in a dungeon without starving.
Belly or BLY, is the appetite of a pokemon and how much they can explore within a dungeon without feeling famished. Every time a player searches for something (loot, stairs, foes), it takes a belly off them. A group is free to move together (all eat a point of hunger) or scout alone (only one eats a point of hunger) but if a Battle Phase happens while the player is scouting, then they will either have to fight the foe themself or try to RUN away from the fight. When a Pokemon drops to 0 BLY, they will become hungry. A hungry pokemon cannot explore by themself and when moved with the group, will eat up a point of HP. When both HP and BLY are 0, then the player will faint. To avoid this, eat food items that satiate a pokemon’s hunger.

Resident Slot - 100 EVs

Residents are not part of the guild which means they can only be roleplayed within the town, wild area, and friend areas. Residents can join town events but are not applicable for missions, errands, or guild events.
Fateful Encounter - 100 EVs

[Fateful encounters is a character event that can be purchased in order for an event to happen directly to an explorer that may affect themselves alone or others with them. These count as Super Mystery Dungeon Missions that are catered closely to explorer it was intended for.].................................................................IC Shops/Facilties
Shops and Facilities that costs Pokecoins are found within the group. However, there is a small system that can affect how an OC may shop or interact with these establishments.
Facility Services
Facilities in town all have different services to give, wether it be selling items, creating them, and many more. Most of these services are not fully unlocked until a certain trigger or qouta is met to do so.
Players are allowed to buy the items in a normal price as how they would buy them normally in the shop. However, they are not limited to this as if one is brave enough, they can interact in a few different ways within a service.Facility Actions:
- Barter
One may try to barter for a lower price for a certain item from an NPC. Coin flips differ depending on the NPC's favor.
- Steal
One may try to steal from a shop but it will require a coin flip to do it. If caught, the notoreity of a character rises and the coin flip to steal from the facility becomes harder each time. If caught too many times, the owner may ban you from the shop for a period of time.
Other than the time ban, you are free to buy as you normally would. Solace Town is a free town and as long as you aren't committing unforgivable crimes such as murder, you are allowed to be yourself.
